Posted May 15, 2014. I was able to score some Red Dot Powder (YAY ). I am getting ready to load up some 9mm loads and can only find data from the older Alliant load sheets. My Lyman 49th manual does not have any published data for this powder for 9mm. I know it will work, maybe not the best but it should do ok for around 1500 plinking rounds.Not worth it. I would stick to book loads for 115s/124s using powders suitable for 9mm. preferably faster type powders such as 231 or Titegroup. A Production load that runs 132-135 pf in your handgun should run about 145-150+ in the carbine. Current load is a 124 gr BBI at 1.10 oal with 3.8 grains of Solo.Join Date: January 8, 2014. I think for my 9mm, 147gr plated rounds, Berry's, using TightGroup at 3.4gr that a COL of 1.150 looks safe. I crimp at .376 for the .356 diameter bullet. Using the 124gr hollow base and hollow points, I started at 4.0gr and found it too light. Heavier going slower is more of a pushy feel, and lighter going faster, is more poppy. But, you have to make power factor.
