This is the right answer; get enough inferium from mob drops for your first inferium seeds, then farm them until you can make more seeds, and then upgrade the tier of seeds and so on. Even if the ores were enabled, that's not a practical source of farming it in large quantities that you need for higher tier essence. The best way to get seeds is making sure its on inferium land any level but higher will gain a better return & speed. The faster the growth the faster you will get seeds. So to break it down like the other comment : Make a 3x3 with farmland.
