You could still try to build a crossbow-based build. A few options to consider: Take the Vital Strike feat chain, probably with a Rowdy dip. Stack up sneak attacks from rogue, Slayer, and/or Vivisectionist; thanks to Rowdy's Vital Force feat, this will also increase Vital Strike damage too.Have you played Pathfinder: Kingmaker? Most simple yet effective build would be grabbing meduim armor via feat and go full strength with a two-handed weapon. You lose out on 3 attacks with full BAB, but between buffs, items and mutagen, your Strength will be so very high that the extra 0.5 strength bonus from strength (and power attack) will result in VERY high damage per swing.Since your focus is on Vivisectionist and you want to get Grand Mutagen (as well as high-level buffs, presumably including Transformation), in my opinion you've diluted your build too much. Regular gameplay will only get you to around level 17. With 4 levels in other classes, you won't see level 6 spells or the Grand Mutagen.
