The raft disappearing might be because cell loading. Game loads the next cell but you only not the raft. And if you swim back a little the boat comes back but when swimming towards it, it disappears again.

Turns left no problem but be buggered if it will go right, I have tried with different raft bases and it does it the same on all of them. #8. And a side note, the bigger the raft is, it will be harder to steer and turn.

I thought it might be due to speed so i tried a slow turn but it was still crap. Guess ill just pull it around for now or launch with sails then switch to motor. This is an idea for the program designer. Lets say a person has a 1 x 3 to a 2 x 3 raft. Extra sails will do nothing for you. However, if you have say anything equal to or up to a 2 x 4 to a 4 x 4 one extra sail will help it go faster. If you have anything bigger then a 4 x 4 then 3 sails will increase the speed. However I would cap it at that.
