I have used impact on crank bolts with 200-250ft-lb torque specs. The Subaru torque spec isn't that high. Personally I would not (and did not) use an impact; the factory procedure isn't that difficult to follow. You will be really sorry if the thread strip out or the bolt stretches and is damaged.What I don't have, or can't find, is the torque specs for the housing.
