A good Smith will set bolt gap properly, but I understand it's a little more fool proof to use the factory installed barrel.I have an older JLD PTR-91; it has the heavy barrel with "A##.." series S/N. I paid a little extra for some parts. The HK gunsmiths baseline price for a PTR91 rebarrel was $450. The HK Gunsmith I used was referred by Ghilliebear. He is in Kalifornia and does PTR91 rebarrels.
