Dec 7, 2019 · Quick video of my Mossberg 590 Shockwave SBS. After this video was made I ran it through a shotgun course using reduced recoil buckshot and reduced recoil slugs and had no issues. No - the Shockwave 590 with a 14" barrel is almost 2" shorter than a 500 with an 18.5" barrel (the 18.5" barrel is the shortest that Mossberg sells the 500 with). Even the bullpup 500 is 28.5" long - I used to own one and compared to the Shockwave it is a clunky bulky heavy shotgun.The Shockwave SPX features a receiver-mounted side saddle with shellholder units/removable top rail, and barrel heat shield.
