Xfinity cable box not turning on
Sep 22, 2022 · I am not able to turn off the X1 Cable box using the remote. We have two X1 Cable boxes, one is turned off by the remote, the other stays on all the time. We have repaired it numerous times. It was factory reset and the Xfinity Store replaced the remote with a new one and the X1 Box still will not turn off on one of our sets. user_f9ad98. Just had Xfinity tech solve problem. My new Sony TV has a power setting that can use "screen saver" or "last input" as a choice on TV turn on. Changed to "last input" and now tv works ok. This has been happening for the past 5 or 6 days. I always turn my TV on and off using the TV remote (Samsung Series 6).

NoNoBadPuppy. @WolfSpirit42 There is no need to unplug the box. In fact, the box should be left plugged in to get updates to the guide, firmware updates, etc. The box does not draw much power.
